"Cause the Frankford El goes straight to Frankford," according to the song by the American Dream. Here is where Septa's Market-Frankford line terminates.
The Frankford El (Elevated Line) was "The inspiration for American Dream's Todd Rundgren-produced hit 'Can't Get to Heaven on the Frankford El.' The A's, a local band popular in the late '70s and early '80s, claimed you could hear the sound of the El in their recordings." Quote is from http://articles.philly.com/1992-09-18/news/26021555_1_sam-cooke-movie-house-streets.
There is a bit about this song and its creation on the Web that can be found by Googling.
