Irwin Hasen, the artist who drew the Dondi comic strip (the favorite of my grandfather and me) from 1955 to 1986 has breakfast here every morning at 8:30. Dondi cartoons are posted in the cafe, according to a nice article in the New York Times of 12/18/11, Metropolitan section at p. 4.
