Artemis, a night club run by famed impresario David Carroll, was here in the early 1970s. Members of Cheap Trick and Nazz had worked here, and Billy Joel and David Bowie hung out there, see http://citypaper.net/articles/2002-10-17/cover3.shtml. I recall that David Bowie had an after-concert party there on the night he played the Spectrum.
On this date, the Google picture does not seem to match the address.

For info on members of Cheap Trick working here, at the time they were in a band called Sick Man of Europe, see https://mycitypaper.com/articles/080196/article031.shtml and https://www.newspapers.com/image/179512702/?terms=%22sick+man+in+europe%22+philadelphia+artemis. For info on Fuse becoming Sick Man of Europe, see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fuse_(band).

The first floor of this building was once a firehouse. See http://www.phillymag.com/property/2016/05/18/once-a-hot-disco-now-a-cool-opportunity/.
