About
This 3,800 square foot home is on the market for $9.1 million. Pop artist Jim Dine uses it as a home and studio. At the turn of the 20th century, billiards champ Calvin Demarest used it as a stable and coachmen's quarters. By 1910 it was a garage. Mr. Dine bought it in 1997 and began using it as a studio. Before then, it had been a plumbing supplies shop and a restaurant. Dine and his wife, photographer Diana Michener, have lived in it since 2009. A son, Nick Dine, was the designer for a renovation. The above information is from the New York Times, 2/3/13, at p. RE 2.
